Nine correspondents have now written to inform us that Sufism is a mystical tradition rather than a denomination and does not belong in a list alongside Sunni, Shia and Ibadi. They are entirely correct. We have kept Rabia in the category anyway, because she is the only model who has never once mentioned money and because she is, at the time of writing, still turning.
